Description and Details of Project:

DAC was commissioned to prepare a development application for alterations and additions to the iconic Coolangatta SLSC building which is situated at the northern end of Coolangatta Beach coastal foreshore reserve. Established in circa 1959 and originally operated from other premises, the first structure on the present site was erected in circa 1966. Presently the supporters club through the operation of dining, bar and gaming area provides necessary funding to purchase equipment and maintain the operation of the surf lifesaving patrols.

The Club identified a number of improvements to the building layout including extensions to SLSC operational and storage facilities, loading/service area and back of house, supporters dining deck, club foyer, kitchen and back of house facilities, which will improve operational aspects of the Club both at the ground and first floor levels. In association with the proposed alterations and additions the Cub proposed to undertake improvements to the external appearance of the building.
